Host a Cultural & Diplomatic Mission with Dr. King SMADE
Design a strategic visit that turns relationships into touring routes, festivals, tourism and long-term creative economy growth. This page outlines what we offer, who it’s for, and what you need in place before we start.
What is a SMADE Cultural & Diplomatic Mission?
A SMADE cultural mission is a curated visit hosted by governments, tourism boards, brands or institutions that want to:
- spotlight their country or city as a creative hub,
- build bridges with African and diaspora audiences, and
- unlock long-term touring, festival and investment opportunities.
Shape soft power, grow your creative economy and position your nation as a serious player in global culture, music and entertainment.
Use culture to drive destination visibility, attract diaspora tourism, and convert attention into visits, spend and strategic partnerships.
Align your brand with meaningful cultural narratives, build partnerships and design legacy projects rooted in real communities.
Outcomes & Value — Why host a mission?
Every mission is designed to leave behind clear pathways, relationships and assets you can build on long after the visit ends.
Are we the right fit?
To protect everyone’s time and ensure missions are genuinely impactful, we typically work with hosts who can commit to the following. Tick what you can currently offer – this doesn’t need to be perfect, but it helps us understand your readiness.
Provisional mission budget that can accommodate SMADE’s base fee plus travel, hospitality, production and programme costs.
Minimum 8–12 weeks lead time before your proposed mission dates for planning, content and stakeholder alignment.
A host organisation with decision-making power (ministry, agency, tourism board, festival, brand or institution) and a dedicated liaison.
Ability to convene key stakeholders: government, venues, creatives, media, tourism bodies and private sector partners during the mission.
Clear goals such as tourism growth, investment attraction, talent exchange, festival development, or diaspora engagement that we can build a programme around.
On-ground logistics and security plan in place – or a commitment to co-design one with our team to protect delegates, partners and guests.
Not sure if you meet every requirement? You can still submit an enquiry. Our team will review your context and advise on the best way forward.
Mission Process – From Enquiry to Roadmap
We keep the process simple, structured and strategic so your team knows exactly what to expect at each stage.
Enquiry & Discovery
You submit the mission enquiry form with your objectives, proposed timeline and budget range. Our team reviews and, if aligned, invites you to a consultation call to clarify goals, stakeholders and feasibility.
Concept & Programme Design
Together we design the mission concept, key moments, partner meetings and public-facing cultural events. This includes proposed itinerary, high-level deliverables and alignment with your tourism, investment or cultural diplomacy goals.
On-Ground Mission Delivery
SMADE leads or co-hosts the mission on the ground: strategy, curation, appearances, media, high-level meetings and ecosystem-building across government, creative industries and private sector partners.
Follow-Up & Roadmap
After the visit, you receive a light outcomes summary and recommended next steps for touring, festivals, tourism and long-term partnerships – so the mission becomes a foundation, not a one-off moment.
