Afro Nation Detroit 2023
The first Afro Nation festival in the American Midwest, honouring Afrobeats on a historic Black cultural site.
Afro Nation Detroit 2023 took place on 19–20 August 2023 at the
Bedrock Douglass Site in Detroit, Michigan.
Headlined by Burna Boy and Davido, the two-day festival brought
Afrobeats, amapiano and global Black music to one of America's most storied music cities.
Set on a historically significant site for Detroit’s Black community, the event connected African and diasporic sounds in a powerful way. With performances from stars including P-Square, Diamond Platnumz, Dej Loaf and Latto, Afro Nation Detroit became a celebration of lineage — linking the city's soul and hip-hop legacy with the new wave of African global culture.
